Christ's Only Church

Denominationalism

The record of the past nineteen centuries reveals these facts concerning the establishment of prominent religious bodies. The following is a list of denominations, falling away from Christ's one true church.

Roman Catholic - founded by Boniface III of Rome in 606 A.D.
The Catholic Church developed from the departure of Christ's church to give more authority to bishops. They called themselves successors of the apostles and gave themselves the authority to bond the Catholic church to the state of Rome.
The Catholic Church also changed and added to the bible at their discretion and not allowing the people to read the word of God so they could know the difference.

Lutheran - founded by Martin Luther of Germany in 1520 A.D.
The Lutheran Church was started by a Catholic priest that tacked a complaint against the Catholic church about their evil practices. He did not want to leave his position there, but he unwittingly started two new branches off the Catholic church, Conservative Lutheran and the Reformed/radical branch.

Episcopal - founded by Henry VIII of England in 1534 A.D.
The Episcopal Church was started by King Henry VIII because the pope would not grant him an annulment from his wife Catherine.

Presbyterian - founded by John Calvin of Switzerland in 1536 A.D.
A denomination/change from the Catholic church to pick through the bible to make-up his own religion and doctrine.

Congregational - founded by Robert Browne of England in 1550 A.D.

Baptist - John Smythe of Holland in 1607 A.D.
Baptists are not disciples of John the Baptist(baptizer). This organization was not started until 1607.

Methodist - John Wesley of England in 1739 A.D.
Came out of the Episcopalian church from John and Charles Wesley and Oxford students that established a society to overcome formalism and ritualism, they also wanted to stimulate piety and spirituality.

Latter Day Saints (Mormons) - Joseph Smith of America in 1830 A.D.
Started by a snake oil salesman that said he had a dream about an angel telling him where some gold plates with God's gospel were buried, from there he wrote the book of Mormon doctrine and started another church.

Adventists - William Miller of America in 1830 A.D.
Started to focus on the second coming of Christ.

Christian Scientist - Mary Baker Eddy of America in 1866 A.D.
Focuses on healing through hypnotism and says some parts of the bible are lies.

Jehovah's Witnesses - Charles T. Russell of America in 1872 A.D.
It is a combination of Universalism, Adventism and Materialism.

Denominations seem to represent walls that only separate people religiously, but they do something worse, they separate people from God and His precious Son's church.

Denominationalism is not unity, it is contrary to Christ's prayer for unity. John 17:20-21, 1Corinthians 1:10-13.

Denominationalism is unscriptural and exists without divine authority. The denominational churches listed above were started at the wrong time and place.

Denominationalism causes, fosters, encourages and perpetuates religious competition and division.

Denominationalism divides homes religiously and creates strife.

Denominationalism confuses honest truth-seekers, people who want to find God's church and worship Him in spirit and truth.

Denominationalism hinders the spread of the truth/gospel/God's word.

Denominationalism is the work of satan not Christ. It is the spirit of error. 1John 4:1-6, Acts 20:28-29

Denominationalism perverts the doctrine of Jesus Christ and exalts the doctrine of men's traditions and false teaching. This again is the work of satan's ministers, apostles and deceitful workers. 2Corinthians 11:13-15

How do we know this? The Holy Spirit foretold, made known unto us long ago, some shall depart from the One Faith. 1Timothy 4:1, Acts 20:28-29

Denominationalism was born because of the departure from the true doctrine of Jesus Christ as the apostles taught. Therefore, denominationalism is without God. 2John 9-10

All Christians are to be One. John 11:52, Ephesians 1:10, Galatians 3:26
Christians must follow Christ's platform for christian unity. Ephesians 4:1-6 This unity of the Spirit must be maintained and practiced to please God. Denominationalism does not follow that platform of christian unity as Christ so plainly prayed for. Everyone who wants to be saved must follow the One Way.
